Senior Volunteers

If you are interested in prehistory and Jordan, are in very good health and condition, enjoy physical activity, are between 16 and 65 years old and like it really hot, the excavation in Jerusalem can offer you an unforgettable experience. You don’t need to have any special expertise or excavation experience (although it is an advantage), but you do need a good dose of adventurousness and curiosity about the unfamiliar. The information contained in the book Archaeology of the Biblical World, UTB-Taschenbuch 2394, Göttingen: Vandenhoeck & Ruprecht 2003 (reprinted 2004; new edition 2005), and the notes on the history and culture of Palestine (chap. 9) should not be unknown to volunteers. Applications as early as possible should be sent to the Thomas Morus Academy, which regularly offers excavation trips for (senior) volunteers. See: TMA Bensberg
